Ryan Reynolds Posted An Epic Video To Celebrate Deadpool’s 10 Year Anniversary, And Of Course Hugh Jackman Left An A+ Comment

Today marks a special milestone: it’s been ten years since the filming of Deadpool’s first solo movie began. Ryan Reynolds, who plays the character under his red and black mask, took to social media to celebrate this significant anniversary. To make things even more exciting, Hugh Jackman, Reynolds’ co-star from the Deadpool and Wolverine series, left a fantastic comment on the video.

On this special event, Reynolds posted a silent, black-and-white video montage showcasing the entire Deadpool series played in reverse order. It starts with the Deadpool & Wolverine end-credits scene and ends at the leaked 2014 Deadpool test footage. Check it out!

Despite Ryan Reynolds portraying Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine earlier, the character in that film barely resembled his comic book counterpart, particularly after he was transformed into Weapon XI. If it weren’t for the leaked test footage five years later, we might have never seen a genuine Deadpool movie. The enthusiastic response to it online was substantial enough to persuade 20th Century Fox to approve the project. As for who leaked it, even Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige isn’t aware.

The rest, as they say, is history. All three Deadpool movies have been critically well received and commercially successful, with Deadpool & Wolverine bring the hight-grossing of the bunch by pulling in over $1.3 billions worldwide. The threequel and its two predecessors can be streamed with a Disney+ subscription, and I’m loving how Hugh Jackman fired back in the comments section of the Instagram post: at Ryan Reynolds for noted about how “a decade really zips by”:

Till YOU’re 90.

This statement is drawing a connection to the humorous moment in the movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” where Deadpool jokes about Disney making Jackman continue playing Wolverine until he’s over 90. Initially, Jackman stated he wouldn’t play Wolverine again after “Logan”, but he later changed his mind and decided to revisit the character. Instead of portraying the Wolverine he played in the X-Men movie series for almost two decades, he took on a different version of the character from another part of the Marvel universe.

Regardless if you’re deeply into superhero flicks or simply enjoy high-quality blockbusters, it’s safe to say that the Deadpool films have enriched our entertainment landscape. As for the future, while details about Deadpool 4 remain uncertain, I’m optimistic that we’ll witness Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman sharing the screen once more in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – be it in this film or another one to come. Frankly, another movie featuring their characters together is long overdue!
