Sabato De Sarno is departing Gucci after serving as creative director for two years.
According to Vogue Business, the brand has revealed that their upcoming Fall/Winter 2025 runway show at Milan Fashion Week will be led by the Gucci design studio. In a statement, Stefano Cantino, CEO of Gucci, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for Sabato’s enthusiasm and commitment towards Gucci. He also acknowledged how Sabato upheld Gucci’s craftsmanship and legacy with such dedication.
In a straightforward manner, Francesca Bellettini, deputy CEO of Kering (Gucci’s parent company), expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards Sabato for his unwavering loyalty and dedication to professionalism. She also proudly acknowledged the efforts made to fortify Gucci’s core values. Stefano and the fresh creative vision will proceed in enhancing these foundations and steer Gucci towards a rejuvenated position in fashion, fostering sustainable growth.
A new creative director is yet to be announced.
In January 2023, De Sarno took over as the creative director for Gucci, succeeding the former creative director Alessandro Michele. Before joining Gucci, De Sarno had served as a fashion director at Valentino, and also worked briefly at Prada and Dolce & Gabbana.
