Sacai Is Where the Wild Things Are for the FW25 Season

Chitose Abe invites you on a journey to experience the untamed side of life for sacai’s Fall/Winter 2025 collection, drawing inspiration from Maurice Sendak’s beloved 1963 book, Where the Wild Things Are. This Japanese designer creatively blends themes of wilderness with the concept of coexisting harmoniously within unbridled, natural environments.

At the forefront are freshly designed knitted furs resembling characters from the story “Where the Wild Things Are”. Drawing inspiration from these furry creatures, the collection pays homage to the wild and untamed, offering a sense of shield and warmth amidst the fluctuating weather conditions and the ruggedness of nature. Chitose Abe carries on her trademark fusion of silhouettes by deforming familiar shapes, yet giving classic clothing items the practical upgrade that is characteristic of sacai.

Abe is revitalizing past partnerships, enriching the lineup of joint Carhartt WIP drops. The collaborative designs now include leather jackets and corduroy collared puffers in richer shades like deep browns and pine green. The collars are intentionally left rough and unrefined, while layering oversized items over standard-sized pieces enhances the sacai profile. Sacai’s distinctive knitwear, down, and new leather materials blend with Carhartt WIP’s traditional washed canvas, with UGG joining as a fresh collaboration to introduce the ultimate plushy boat shoe featuring knee shearling. Other footwear collaborations present UGG slip-ons, while J.M. Weston’s wild cow pattern print is also featured. Explore the collection either above or below.
