As a long-time admirer of Sally Field‘s exceptional acting skills and unwavering spirit, I must say her recent return to social media is nothing short of inspiring. Her dedication to using her platform for advocacy, particularly during these tumultuous times, truly embodies the essence of a steel magnolia.
Sally Field has returned to social media, thanks to Kamala Harris‘ presidential bid.
The award-winning actress recently returned to Instagram, announcing it in two separate posts, as she expressed her excitement about Harris being a presidential candidate with Tim Walz as her chosen running mate.
“She hasn’t used social media for some time now, ever since it turned into a platform frequently utilized by our ex-president who was notorious for dishonesty. However, there seems to be renewed optimism. Hence, here she is, sharing photos of her and her dog Dash on Thursday.”
On Friday, she shared a second picture of herself in front of the TV during the Democratic National Convention. In her caption, she expressed: “Hope is present, right here with me and my freshly registered 18-year-old grandson who just voted for the first time.” She concluded by saying, “I’m shouting this news from every hilltop I can reach!”
The speaker passionately urged everyone to cast their votes for the well-being of their nation, future generations, the planet, women’s rights, human rights, and democracy. In the end, she recommended supporting Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. She ended her plea with a heartfelt request, “God willing, (and I promise to be your friend forever).”

As a devoted fan, I must say it’s not surprising to me that Sally Field, the radiant star of “Steel Magnolias,” has spoken out against Donald Trump before. After the 2016 election, she appeared on Chelsea Handler’s Netflix show and criticized the former president for his hypocrisy and inexperience.
As a gamer, I’d say: “Looking back at his track record, there’s no proof that he can deliver on any promise he makes. He’s proven to be just as bad as he accuses Hillary Clinton of being, and it’s clear now that he embodies every negative trait he accused her of.”
The field of acting has received three Oscar nominations for her performances in the movies “Norma Rae” from 1979, “Places in the Heart” in 1984, and “Lincoln” in 2012. She was victorious in winning the best actress award for both “Norma Rae” and “Places in the Heart.”
