As a die-hard fan, I’d find myself in hot water, if you will, after my reckless actions landed me in the clutches of the Worli Police. The reason? A hasty WhatsApp message that seemed harmless to me but was deemed a death threat to the one and only Salman Khan. My identity? Mayank Pandya from Vadodara, Gujarat. After a thorough grilling by the authorities, I was eventually given a stern warning and let off with an official notice.
According to reports from Free Press Journal, it’s been stated by police sources that Mayank Pandya sent a menacing message to Mumbai Traffic Police’s WhatsApp help service. This message contained a threat against them, saying “We will break into your home and murder you,” and also threatened to plant a bomb in Salman Khan’s car. Although the message didn’t directly reference the Bishnoi gang, its tone was consistent with past threats aimed at the actor.
In response to the content of the communication, the Worli Police submitted a First Information Report (FIR) based on Sections 351(2) and 351(3) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The Deputy Commissioner of Police in Zone 3, Dattatray Kambale, verified that the threatening message originated from a phone number which was traced back to Vadodara. As a result, a police squad was dispatched to the city, and they apprehended the suspect for further questioning.
On April 13, approximately at 6:30 AM, it’s said that a menacing message was sent. This message became public knowledge the next day during a regular examination of WhatsApp helpline messages by the traffic police during their duties. According to authorities, this message not only implied a death threat against the actor Sikandar but also contained a clear warning about placing a bomb in his vehicle.
In various instances, Salman Khan has encountered threats. In the year 2023, he received not one but two intimidating emails. Additionally, during an outing, Salim Khan, Salman’s father, was confronted with a warning note, believed to be from the Bishnoi group.
Lately, in April 2024, a shooting occurred outside an actor’s home. This was done by individuals connected to the Bishnoi gang. Later on, the Mumbai Crime Branch apprehended several suspects linked to this incident.
Salman has been under enhanced security due to the Y+ category, but the threats against him haven’t ceased. In July 2024, an individual on a motorcycle made an attempt to breach the actor’s security detail, and in November of that year, another threat was transmitted via the traffic police’s WhatsApp communication channel.
The communication asked for five hundred million rupees and threatened dire outcomes if the request went unmet. This incident resulted in an apprehension in Karnataka. Investigators are currently probing into potential reasons behind Mayank Pandya’s actions and his suspected role in the latest threat.
