As a dedicated fan of Salman Khan who has witnessed his journey through thick and thin, I must say that the latest developments in this case have left me both concerned and intrigued. The revelation that one of the suspects joined Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang after following him on Instagram is a stark reminder of the influence social media can wield, even for nefarious purposes.
In April, Salman Khan’s home in Bandra was hit by a series of gunshots. Several individuals linked to this incident have been taken into custody, and the investigation continues. The most recent information from the chargesheet reveals that one of the detained suspects admitted to joining the gang four years ago after being influenced by Lawrence Bishnoi on Instagram.
Accused reveals joining Bishnoi’s gang after following him on social media
As per a report from Free Press Journal, an individual named Haripal Hardeep Singh (commonly known as Hari), who was detained in connection to the Salman Khan firing case, has admitted his association with Lawrence Bishnoi’s criminal group for approximately four years. Furthermore, Hari confessed that he had been communicating with Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol, residing in Canada, and Rohit Godhara.
The investigation found that he established these connections following his membership in an Instagram group titled ‘sopuprajasthangolden09,’ which showcases images of Bishnoi gang members and related material. Hari manages an account on Instagram under the name ‘harry_rai_sopu_haryana.’ This particular account contains a video depicting a discussion with Rafiq Mohammad, who is also known as Golden, one of the individuals arrested in relation to the Salman Khan house shooting incident.
Accused created reels of video calls with Lawrence Bishnoi and more
According to the same news source, the charge sheet discloses that Hari constructed reels using video call recordings, including a group conversation with ten members of the gang, Lawrence Bishnoi among them. Furthermore, the report suggests that the charge sheet implies that several Instagram accounts labeled ‘Sopu Group 29’ (Student Organization of Punjab University) are administered by Lawrence Bishnoi.
More about the Salman Khan house firing case
A few days ago, Salman Khan told the police that he believes the Lawrence Bishnoi gang could be behind the shooting at his home in April. He suggested they intended to harm him and his family. This statement was included in the chargesheet submitted by the Mumbai Police in a court case concerning this incident in Mumbai.
As an ardent admirer putting this into my own words, I’d say: “I firmly believe that Lawrence Bishnoi, along with his associates, orchestrated the shooting while my family was asleep. Their intention was clearly to eliminate not only me, but also my beloved family members.”
In this case, the people taken into custody are Vickykumar Gupta, Sagarkumar Pal, Sonukumar Bishnoi, Anujkumar Thapan (who later died by suicide while in police detention), Mohd Rafiq Choudhary, and Harpal Singh. Anujkumar Thapan’s death is being investigated as a potential suicide that occurred following his arrest. The five remaining suspects are currently being held in judicial custody.
