Salt Lake City To Host 2034 Winter Olympic Games

As a seasoned gamer and avid sports fan, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement as I hear Salt Lake City will be hosting the 2034 Winter Olympic Games. Having grown up watching the Winter Olympics on TV and playing countless video games featuring winter sports, this news brings me back to my childhood memories.

The upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are creating a lot of buzz in the sports community, starting this Friday. There’s been an influx of Olympic news lately, not just about Paris 2024 but also Los Angeles 2028. Moreover, Salt Lake City, Utah has been awarded the right to host the Winter and Paralympic Games in 2034.

Salt Lake City in Utah was the site of the Winter Olympics back in 2002. However, those Games were marred by a scandal involving the pairs figure skating competition and allegations of corruption during the bidding process. Despite these issues, Salt Lake City has been granted another opportunity to host the Olympics. This decision was made due to strong public support and the fact that many Olympic structures from the previous games are still intact and can be used. The CEO of the Salt Lake City bid, Fraser Bullock, expressed his excitement about the prospect of hosting the Games again, stating that “Utah has another chance to prove itself as an exceptional host” (The New York Times).

In the winter sports collection, you’ll find activities such as alpine skiing, bobsledding, curling, figure skating, free skiing with tricks, ice hockey, luge sledding, jumping on skis, snowboarding, racing on ice skates, and short-track ice skating, among others.

Stay tuned for more updates regarding the 2034 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah.
