Samuel L. Jackson in Talks to Star in ‘Tulsa King’ New Orleans Spin-Off

Samuel L. Jackson is headed to the next big Taylor Sheridan drama.

The actor is deep in talks to tackle a Paramount+ spin-off of Tulsa King.

Last year, it was The Hollywood Reporter that initially reported about the development of a spin-off from the popular Sylvester Stallone series. Previously, Terence Winter, who had worked on the original series, had been brainstorming an idea for a story set in New Orleans.

According to reports, Jackson is expected to make a special appearance in the third season of Tulsa King, which is now being filmed in both Oklahoma and Atlanta. Following this guest role, there are plans for him to star in his very own series. Furthermore, it has been revealed that Dave Erickson (previously associated with Mayor of Kingstown) will be penning the spin-off script, having taken over as showrunner for Tulsa King during the new season.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel thrilled at the prospect of Samuel L. Jackson joining the cast for this upcoming project! If it indeed happens, this move would undeniably be a remarkable achievement for executive producer Sheridan and Paramount+. After all, in 2023, the Guiness Book of World Records recognized Samuel L. Jackson as the actor with the highest-grossing box office collection ever, raking in an astounding $7 billion across films like The Avengers franchise, Pulp Fiction (for which he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor), and Jurassic Park – a tally that spans over 150 films in his impressive repertoire.

In the remade series titled “Tulsa King“, Sylvester Stallone plays the role of a New York mafia boss who gets sent to Oklahoma instead. There, he establishes his own criminal organization anew. The show has been quite successful on the streaming platform, with its second season debut in September becoming Paramount+’s most-viewed global premiere ever. Notably, during the rest of its second season, “Tulsa King” consistently ranked among Nielsen’s top 10 streaming titles.

Apart from his current commitments, Jackson is also involved with other projects at Paramount Studios. Notably, it was announced in April that he will be featured in an upcoming film titled “Man of War,” which is being directed by Tim Story, under the banner of Paramount Pictures.

Paramount+ had no comment.
