2016 romantic drama “Sanam Teri Kasam,” starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, has made a comeback in cinemas. In just four days, it surpassed its initial total earnings at the box office. Additionally, Harshvardhan revealed his intention to embark on an 11-day fast involving only water as a fervent appeal to producers for a follow-up movie, emphasizing his dedication to bring “Sanam Teri Kasam 2” into existence.
Harshvardhan Rane posted on Instagram a video along with a message saying, “I personally visited the producer’s office to ask for a re-release, and next, I plan to fast for 11 days outside their office in hope of a Part -2. It was 9 years ago that the producer, director, and Mawra poured their blood, sweat, and soul into this project, and now you’ve added your tears. I promise to give everything I have, even my life, for part-2 – I make this vow with all my heart.”

During a recent conversation with Connect Cine, Rane mentioned that his sole strategy at this point is to fast and ask the producers for a sequel, since he doesn’t have any personal ties in Bollywood. He also noted that he plans to express his desire in a respectful manner.
During an interview with The Free Press Journal, Harshvardhan shared that he hadn’t necessarily anticipated Sanam Teri Kasam receiving such widespread acclaim. He noted that sometimes, actors aren’t guided solely by logical thinking but rather by their dreams, which can frequently surpass rational understanding.
Speaking of his response, he mentioned that he eagerly urged his producer to re-release the movie, even without a clear rationale, choosing February 7th as the date amidst numerous releases already scheduled. He emphasized that while he didn’t have any specific predictions, he had a strong intuition about the film’s potential success.
Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the movie-makers behind Sanam Teri Kasam 2, recently shared some insights on India Forums about the sequel’s development. It turns out that when they were writing the original film, they had already envisioned a two-part storyline for it. They mentioned that while preparing for the second part, there is a well-defined path for Inder’s (Harshvardhan Rane) character journey in Sanam Teri Kasam 2.
The pair revealed that the conclusion of the initial movie, featuring Inder walking towards a tree as Mawra Hocane’s voice reverberates, was intentionally crafted to set up a follow-up. Moreover, they mentioned their intent to launch the sequel on Valentine’s Day in 2026, considering the strong reception of the movie’s recent re-release on that same day.
Additionally, it was pointed out that the majority of songs for the upcoming sequel are nearing completion, and they reassured fans that Sanam Teri Kasam 2 is progressing smoothly. An official announcement regarding the release is anticipated in the near future.
