Like many, Sarah Michelle Gellar has some regrets about her ’90s eyebrows.

Merit’s latest Brow 1990 pencil excited “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” actress, leading her to reflect on past beauty blunders. She recalled her previously overplucked eyebrows, as thin as pencils, and a trend that left them seemingly disintegrated.

Have you ever revisited old photos and felt baffled by your past choices? According to Gellar in a recently released GRWM video for The Hollywood Reporter, her most regrettable fashion blunder from the ’90s is undeniably her “sperm brows.” Yes, you read that right – her eyebrows bore an uncanny resemblance to sperm.

During an interview, the actress shared an experience from her past while demonstrating the gentle eye and lip products from the popular clean beauty brand. She recalled a time when she worked on a small TV show called “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” After a premiere event, she returned home feeling drained. Upon washing her face, she was dismayed to find that her brows had been bleached and had nearly vanished entirely. (This incident was featured in an October 2000 issue of Premiere magazine.)

Gellar shared an anecdote about discovering her ideal brow style. Her hairdresser and makeup artist were delayed, leaving Deborah Waknin to help with her makeup instead. Consequently, she accidentally created a natural brow look that became popular in the ’90s.

The actress reflects on past attempts to coordinate drapes with carpets, the oversized hair styles that dwarfed any final look, and her husband Freddie Prinze Jr.’s prominent ’90s eyebrows.

The moral of the story, she says? “Less is always more.”

Emma Stone, Kate Hudson, and Allyson Felix, like many others, are avid users of Merit’s brow products. In addition, the actress you’re referring to employed Merit’s Clean Lash mascara for lengthening, Solo Shadow matte eye color applied with Brush No. 2, and Signature Lip lightweight lipstick during her makeup routine.

Merit has not only introduced a new long-lasting formula for its Brow 1980 volumizing pomade, but they have also added a new sheer gel brow pencil to their collection. This announcement is accompanied by a fresh campaign featuring supermodel Kirsty Hume. Additionally, Merit has released a new Brow Duo bundle, which includes the Brow 1990 pencil and the Brow 1980 pomade for a special price of $44 (originally $48).
