Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Buffy Revival Is Moving Forward, And There Are Even More Reasons To Be Excited

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but reminisce about the magical days of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” on TV. Over the years, there have been whispers and wishes for more episodes, but it seemed like Sarah Michelle Gellar wasn’t keen. However, the tides might be turning as a pilot for a reboot of Buffy is being put together, with none other than Sarah Michelle Gellar stepping back into the iconic role once again.

For some time, Buffy has been accessible through a Hulu subscription for streaming. However, it appears that the platform is aiming to strengthen its ties with the ’90s teen show even further. According to Deadline, a sequel series is on the verge of receiving a pilot order from Hulu, with Sarah Michelle Gellar reprising her role as Buffy, the protector of Sunnydale. Additionally, there’s a strong possibility that more members of the original cast will return.

Not only does the positive news continue, but it also gets even better! It appears that if the potential “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” reboot moves forward, it will be directed by the esteemed Oscar winner Chloé Zhao. Additionally, Nora and Lilla Zuckerman, who have worked on the show “Poker Face” (available with a Peacock subscription), will pen the script for this project.

As a passionate movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the prospect that we might soon witness the return of our beloved “Buffy” universe. Fingers crossed that this pilot order materializes into something tangible. If it does, the big question on every fan’s lips will be who else from the original cast will reunite with Sarah Michelle Gellar as part of the Scooby Gang. The anticipation is palpable!

More to come…
