In 2024, the movie Sarfira featuring Akshay Kumar and Radhikka Madan, which was initially released in cinemas, is set to stream online. The story centers around Akshay’s character who pursues a dream of creating an affordable airline for all Indians to fly. Now, viewers will have the chance to either watch this inspiring tale for the first time or revisit it. It has been announced that the film will debut on Disney+ Hotstar on October 11, 2024.
On September 26th, Disney+ Hotstar and the Sarfira film team revealed information about the movie’s digital launch. In the announcement video, Akshay Kumar delivered a special message.
Regarding the narrative, Akshay mentioned, “Dreaming about the sky doesn’t require anyone’s approval on Earth. This is the tale of an ordinary individual whose dream was to make airplane travel accessible to every ordinary person.

Akshay went on to say, “The world put up many obstacles and tried to silence him, even labeling him as crazy. But he didn’t give in because such an individual breaks the norms set by society. And soon, you will be moved by the true story of a person like this.

Under the collaboration of Cape of Good Films, Abundantia Entertainment, and 2D Entertainment, the film Sarfira serves as a remake of the Tamil production Soorarai Pottru. The original movie is an adaptation from Captain GR Gopinath’s book “Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey.” The movie is skillfully directed by Sudha Kongara and jointly produced by Aruna Bhatia, Jyotika, Suriya, and Vikram Malhotra.
Apart from Akshay Kumar, Radhika Madan, and others, the cast also features Paresh Rawal, Seema Biswas, R. Sarath Kumar, Saurabh Goyal, and additional actors.
