Satyameva Jayate 2 director Milap Zaveri admits feeling ‘abandoned’ by Nikkhil Advani after film's failure; ‘Mujhe ehsaas dilaya gaya ki tu pit gaya’

As a long-time follower of Bollywood and its intricate web of relationships, I can empathize with Milap Zaveri’s recent revelation about his fallout with Nikkhil Advani following the failure of Satyameva Jayate 2. The dynamics between creators, producers, and the business side of filmmaking are often complex, and it seems that this unfortunate incident is a prime example of that complexity.

In a second installment of “Satyameva Jayate,” featuring John Abraham and Divya Khosla, a substantial budget of approximately 950 crore rupees was spent, but the movie flopped at the box office. More recently, Milap Zaveri admitted to feeling like a failure following the film’s release and claimed that producer Nikkhil Advani, whom he considers like a brother, left him high and dry. Additionally, Zaveri disclosed that he sent a message to Advani expressing his belief that their relationship suffered due to a single setback.

During an open conversation on Siddharth Kannan’s YouTube channel, Milap openly discussed the strained relationship that ensued between him and Nikkhil Advani following the underperformance of Satyameva Jayate 2, which featured John Abraham.

In a straightforward manner, the director acknowledged that he felt like he had fallen short, and he expressed this sentiment twice. He suggested that perhaps his overconfidence might have played a role, yet he emphasized that at no point was he disrespected or stepped out of bounds when dealing with Nikkhil or Emmay Entertainment.

During the production of the movie Marjaavaan, featuring John Abraham, its director openly acknowledged some disagreements with Nikkhil. These disagreements stemmed from differing viewpoints rather than any significant issues. At that time, the director was filled with confidence due to the success of his previous two films. As a result, they essentially represented two individuals advocating for different cinematic styles.

Zaveri stated, “He endured the situation only as long as his cinema was running profitably. He tolerated it since it was bringing in income for him and his business.

Reflecting on it, Satyameva Jayate marked a significant milestone for both the production company and himself following its triumph. As a result, he may have felt a sense of self-assurance when deciding to produce the sequel.

Despite their friendly separation, he noted that Advani holds a special place in his life, much like an older brother and a paternal figure. Given the intimate bond they share, he felt compelled to voice his emotions candidly.

In simpler terms, Milan admitted that he had been deeply wounded by the situation, an emotion that persisted for quite some time, leaving him with a sense of being forsaken by the director of Vedaa. Consequently, he chose to communicate his sentiments directly via a text message.

He remembered the conversation and responded, “I reached out to him too at a certain time. Nikkhil, after one failure, you left me hanging. You simply left me, and you’ve wiped your hands clean, so all wagers are off.

Regardless of Nikkhil’s response with a smiling face, the author continues to attend their gatherings and events when feasible, as he is committed to being present for them.

Regarding his professional commitments, Milap Zaveri is currently engrossed in directing Masti 4, a movie featuring Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani, and Vivek Oberoi. As of now, neither the female leads nor the release date have been disclosed, but fans are already buzzing with anticipation to catch this upcoming film.
