Currently, Todd and Julie Chrisley, once prominent figures in reality TV, are still serving their prison sentences following their conviction for bank fraud, tax evasion, among other charges. In the interim, their children grapple with the real-life impact of their parents’ absence. Notably, their daughter Savannah Chrisley, aged 27, has been open about this challenging phase. On numerous instances, she has responded to public scrutiny surrounding her family’s circumstances. Recently, Savannah is disclosing one common blunder in discussions about her family.
Since their parents went to prison in January 2023, Savannah Chrisley has been taking care of her younger siblings, 12-year-old sister Chloe and 18-year-old brother Grayson. Chloe is the child of Kyle Chrisley, Todd’s eldest son with ex-wife Teresa Terry, who was formally adopted by the Chrisleys in 2016. However, Savannah mentions that some people still refer to Chloe as her niece rather than her sibling, which she finds upsetting.
As a passionate cinephile, I can relate to this situation. When someone gazes at me, it’s as if they’re whispering, “There she is, your sister.” Similarly, when folks lay eyes on my dad, they often remark, “Ah, there’s your grandpa.” This leaves Chloe questioning, “Why do they keep labeling him like that?” You see, people have a tendency to categorize things in public. However, their actions unwittingly cause pain. They wound the child.
Chloe despises being referred to as someone’s aunt or grandmother because those titles don’t resonate with her. A child psychologist wisely observed that if she calls me ‘mom’, it’s because I embody the love and actions of a mother. I may show up like a dad, but I also exhibit traits that make her feel loved as a child would from a mom. So, if those are the roles she identifies with, let her call me by those names.
In essence, public labeling only serves to hurt the child. It’s heartbreaking to witness.

Savannah Chrisley Offers Insight on the Upcoming Episode of Her Family’s Reality Series, as Todd and Julie Chrisley Maintain Their Incarceration
In this version, I’ve tried to use a more conversational tone that reflects the way people might discuss their favorite shows with friends. The main idea is to convey that Savannah Chrisley shared information about her family’s upcoming reality TV show and that Todd and Julie Chrisley remain in prison.
33-year-old Kyle Chrisley has battled addiction for quite some time, but his sister Lindsie states that he’s currently sober. He also encountered legal troubles, as he was apprehended for aggravated assault in the year 2023. As for Chloe’s mom, Angela Johnson, she too has faced personal difficulties, and it’s said that she relinquished her parental rights in 2017. However, Johnson attempted to regain custody of her daughter in 2022, but was unsuccessful.
What’s frustrating for Savannah Chrisley regarding the claim about Chloe (who has mixed race) is that people attempt to exploit racial differences to create a massive rift. During her interview, Savannah also touched upon Chloe’s parental situation and reinforced the bond between them.
In this scenario, her mother didn’t hand her over casually, as if she were shopping for a new family member. Instead, they felt deeply about Chloe and chose to take her in because they saw the dire circumstances she was in. They wanted to offer her a better life, one filled with love and opportunities. Adopting Chloe was not an easy decision, but it was one they made out of compassion. I can’t even fathom being a parent and having to part ways with my child like that. It’s a situation I wouldn’t wish on anyone. But here we are, bonded as best friends – me, Chloe, and Grayson. We’re an unbreakable trio, always facing challenges together.
After taking guardianship of her siblings, Savannah Chrisley has been transparent about her experiences in raising them. On her podcast “Unlocked”, she’s talked about celebrating Christmas with them while their parents were incarcerated and shared her challenges as a surrogate parent for Chloe and Grayson earlier this year. However, through her social media posts, it appears that the trio share a strong bond and enjoy each other’s company. Here’s one of her recent holiday posts:

Regarding Julie and Todd Chrisley, Julie is currently serving a seven-year term at Lexington Medical Center in Kentucky, while Todd received a 12-year sentence at a Federal Prison Camp in Florida. Savannah remains optimistic that her parents might be released ahead of schedule due to appeals, and rumors suggest they are seeking a pardon from the U.S. President Donald Trump. Meanwhile, as their legal team works diligently, Savannah seems to be concentrating on looking after her siblings and clarifying certain matters concerning Chloe when necessary.
