As a longtime fan of the Saw franchise, I can hardly contain my excitement for Saw XI! The return of Tobin Bell as John Kramer/Jigsaw is like a sweet symphony to my horror-loving ears. It’s been quite a journey watching this torturous saga unfold, and I must admit that I’ve developed an unhealthy obsession with the intricate web of pain and redemption these movies weave.
The resurgence of horror films, which started some time ago, continues unabated, with no indication of letting up soon. Notable horror movies have been making a comeback in cinemas with new installments, such as the Saw series. Tobin Bell, a mainstay of the franchise, has confirmed that he’ll reprise his role for the upcoming Saw XI, which leaves me, an ardent fan, with several questions.
For those who remember, John Kramer (also known as Jigsaw) was pronounced dead in the 2006 film “Saw III”. Since then, the series has gone to great lengths to bring back this cherished antagonist, such as “Saw X” delving into the timeline. In a recent interview with the LA Times, Bell confirmed his return to the role of the architect of torment. In his own words:

While this news is surely exciting for longtime Saw fans like myself, I have to wonder exactly how Jigsaw will be back for the upcoming eleventh movie in the franchise. We’ll just have to wait and see what comes next.
It seems logical to infer that the upcoming film will continue after the conclusion of Saw X, as there are several storylines left unresolved. Notably, this series installment served as a prequel, so the character John Kramer, portrayed by Tobin Bell, is indeed still alive in this continuity.
These films, including those available on Max via streaming, often play around with time quite a bit. For instance, movies like “Saw III” and “Saw IV ” essentially take place concurrently, which was quite a shocking twist when they first hit theaters. Given the multiple timelines, it appears there could be several methods to resurrect Jigsaw. However, the creator’s remarks about delving deeper into the character make me believe that the upcoming eleventh installment in the series might stick with the same storyline and timeline as “Saw X“.
If Saw XI employs a similar approach, it might pave the way for Shawnee Smith’s character, Amanda Young, to make another appearance. Fans were thrilled when she came back in the last film, even though her character was apparently killed off in Saw III.
In the final scenes of Saw X, there was another unexpected appearance – Costas Mandylor as the sinister Mark Hoffman. The horror series often introduced new apprentices of Jigsaw, so viewers would undoubtedly be excited to catch a glimpse into the secret collaborations between John, Amanda, and Hoffman that we didn’t witness before.
