Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali Unveil ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Footage Featuring Adorable Baby Dinosaur

The film titled “Jurassic World Rebirth” made a thunderous debut on the CinemaCon stage, graced by stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and director Gareth Edwards.

The presentation kicked off dramatically with a live performance of the iconic theme music from the franchise, first created by John Williams. “That melody never fails to send shivers down my spine, especially when it’s played live,” said Ali appreciatively.

As a gamer, I can’t help but feel like a kid on his first day at Jurassic Park. For the past 15 years, I’ve had this dream of being part of the Jurassic franchise, and now, here I am! However, someone in our group joked, “I was way too expensive for this role.” The humor in our group never stops.

Edwards expressed that creating the film was a lifetime achievement for him, expressing his pride in collaborating with an Academy Award recipient, Ali. In jest, he mentioned, “Two,” to which Edwards corrected, “A two-time Academy Award winner.

Ali expressed, “Working in Thailand was amazing.” He went on to mention that Edwards often requested him to dash through a jungle teeming with wildlife. He also shared, “It’s hard not to think, ‘I can’t possibly be doing that.’

Johansson emphasized that the team wanted to “put the scares back in Jurassic.”

When Edwards was about to present the video, Ali mentioned he had already watched it, while Johansson stated she was unaware of it. “Why did Mahershala get to see it and I didn’t?” she questioned, prompting Edwards to allegedly show her the footage on his phone.

The thrilling video displays individuals sailing a boat through a dense jungle, with Scarlett Johansson’s character expressing caution, “Perhaps we need to wrap this up swiftly, don’t you think?” Additionally, the trailer hinted at a cute dinosaur being transported to security.

In addition to Edwards, the film features Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Luna Blaise, David Iacono, Audrina Miranda, Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein as its cast members.

In the movie “Jurassic World Rebirth”, there are just a few dinosaurs left, living in specially designed habitats. Three of these dinosaurs possess genetic material crucial to developing a possibly lifesaving medication. Undercover operative Zora Bennett (played by Johansson) endeavors to acquire the dinosaur DNA, but instead finds herself stranded on an island concealing a secret that has been hidden from mankind for decades, along with a civilian family.

The upcoming feature is set five years after the events depicted in “Jurassic World Dominion,” the latest installment of the Jurassic Park franchise, which premiered in June 2022 and starred Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill. The film series began in 1993 with Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster “Jurassic Park,” an adaptation of Michael Crichton’s 1990 science fiction novel by the same name.

In the director’s chair for “Jurassic World Rebirth” was Rick Edwards, who previously worked on this project, having directed the movie “Rogue One”. The script for this film was penned by David Koepp, a writer known for his work on both the original “Jurassic Park” and its 1997 sequel titled “The Lost World: Jurassic Park”. This production, stemming from Amblin Entertainment, is rooted in characters that were initially created by Michael Crichton.

Every year, CinemaCon – an occasion specifically catering to exhibitors and Hollywood studios – takes place, with this year’s event happening from March 31 to April 3. This event is organized by Cinema United, a group previously known as the National Association of Theatre Owners.
