The thunderous return of dinosaurs is more spectacular than ever in the debut trailer for “Jurassic World: Rebirth”, the latest installment in the long-running dinosaur series, which was initiated by director Steven Spielberg over three decades ago.
Five years following the events of “Dominion”, the film “Rebirth” introduces an entirely fresh narrative with all-new characters, penned by David Koepp, who previously worked on the original “Jurassic Park”. Gareth Edwards, famous for “Monsters” and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, directs this highly anticipated movie. It’s set to make its grand appearance on the big screen in July.

In the upcoming movie, Scarlett Johansson, formerly known as the Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, takes center stage as Zora Bennett, a seasoned covert ops specialist embarking on a mission to retrieve valuable dinosaur DNA from various gigantic creatures residing on land, sea, and air. This quest is being financed by a corporation that could potentially aid humanity in some capacity, though its intentions remain unclear.
In an interview with SYFY WIRE back in 2020, screenwriter Michael Crichton mentioned that the early Jurassic Park served as a valuable lesson for him on how to tell a science-based narrative. He also acknowledged the brilliance of Crichton’s book as a source of inspiration.
As a passionate gamer delving back into Michael Crichton’s captivating world for our upcoming project, I can’t help but share an exciting tidbit. I’ve managed to breathe life into a scene from the Jurassic saga that was previously beyond reach in both Jurassic Park and The Lost World. True to form, this new adventure unfolds on a secluded tropical island, home to the final surviving dinosaurs. This island, as revealed by Vanity Fair, is where InGen’s original research lab once stood; a sanctuary where these incredible creatures have managed to survive despite their struggle to adapt to our rapidly changing planet’s climate.
In Frank Marshall’s words, “These are the dinosaurs that didn’t quite fit the mold.” He added, “There have been some alterations made.” Although they stem from genuine dinosaur studies, they display slight variations in appearance.
According to the trailer, the movie Rebirth showcases several classic dinosaurs such as T. rex, Velociraptor, Dilophosaurus, and Spinosaurus, along with some brand new ones, like a colossal, enigmatic creature that makes an appearance twice in the clip.
Who stars in Jurassic World Rebirth?
Besides Johansson, the movie Jurassic World Rebirth showcases a number of accomplished performers in key roles. Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali from Green Book portrays Zora’s trusted team leader, Duncan Kincaid; Jonathan Bailey, who won the Olivier Award for Wicked, plays the paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis; Emmy Award nominee Rupert Friend from Companion takes on the role of Big Pharma representative Martin Krebs; Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, known for The Lincoln Lawyer, plays Reuben Delgado, the head of a family shipwrecked family that encounters Zora and her crew; Luna Blaise from Manifest, David Iacono from The Summer I Turned Pretty, and Audrina Miranda from Lopez vs. Lopez are part of Reuben’s family in the story; and Philippine Velge, Bechir Sylvain, and Ed Skrein round out the cast as members of Zora and Krebs’ crew.
