Warning: Plot details from the initial four episodes of Season 2 of “School Spirits” lie ahead. Proceed with care and stay updated by subscribing to Paramount+.
The second season of “School Spirits” has begun airing as per the 2025 TV schedule, and I find myself with more questions than answers regarding Maddie’s storyline. So far, we’ve seen Janet occupy Maddie’s body, other ghosts dealing with their past traumas, and all humans being aware of Peyton List’s character being a ghost. These events have already set the stage for some major shifts. The cast has hinted that the finale will be even more shocking than anything we might anticipate as the worst possible scenario.
Clearly, it’s sparking thoughts in my mind about potential future events and the possible conclusion of this fantastic Paramount+ series.
What The Cast Of School Spirits Said About Season 2’s Ending
Regarding the climax of Season 2, actress Kiara Pichardo (Nicole) shared with ScreenRant that it’s “insane.” Similarly, actor Kristian Ventura (Simon) mentioned that predicting the finale’s outcome would be extremely difficult, expressing his viewpoint as: “It’s almost impossible to guess the ending.
To guess the ending—it’s a lottery ticket. I mean, if you actually get it…
Pichardo concurred, stating her belief that viewers wouldn’t likely predict it. This remark, made by the actor from ‘Simon’, turned out to be the most intriguing observation in our discussion.
Think about the worst thing that could happen, and then worse than that.
To date, a multitude of unexpected events have transpired, and some of them were quite unfathomable. For instance, who would have thought Xavier would glimpse ghosts for even a moment? That was far from my expectations. Likewise, the intricate details about scars and dreams that would unfold into nightmares? Never saw that coming. Given the show’s propensity for unforeseen twists and turns, it’s challenging to anticipate what lies ahead.
In addition to providing a sneak peek of what’s ahead, Spencer MacPherson from Xavier shared that the season is packed with “major surprises” and “shocking” episodes. Thus, by combining some of the anticipated revelations, I can make an educated guess about several possible endings for Season 2.
A Few Wild Theories I Have About How School Spirits Season 2 Could End
Recently, I’ve been pondering on potential outcomes, specifically focusing on the most unfavorable scenarios, and attempting to identify anything more detrimental than those.
It’s clear now that Maddie won’t regain possession of her body, despite my fervent hopes since Season 1 of School Spirits concluded with Janet inhabiting it. Let’s set that aside first, and then we can explore some, admittedly far-fetched theories about the potential outcomes in Season 2:
1. Janet might find a way to return Maddie’s consciousness to her own body, allowing them both to coexist peacefully.
2. The school spirit world could be dismantled or merged with the human world, freeing Janet and Maddie from their current predicament.
3. A powerful entity within the spirit world might step in to resolve this issue, leading to a dramatic resolution for both characters.
- Mr. Martin Will Kill Maddie’s Body, Making Her A Ghost Forever
It appears that we are hoping for Maddie to regain her physical form as a satisfying conclusion. However, the cast’s remarks suggest otherwise. If Maddie were to remain a ghost indefinitely, it could lead to an unforeseen twist: perhaps Mr. Martin will discover Janet within Maddie’s body and eliminate her – freeing Janet’s spirit while laying Maddie’s physical self to rest. This would certainly be shocking and an unexpected turn of events.
- Wally Will Pass On To What Lies Beyond Being A Ghost
One of my main curiosities about the second season of School Spirits revolves around Wally and Maddie’s relationship, given that List’s character might become human. It seems like they are destined lovers, and I can imagine two scenarios: either Wally finds a level of happiness to move on from their relationship or a tragic event occurs that erases him altogether. Given Milo Manheim’s popular character, this potential development would be quite disappointing.
- Xavier Dies And Becomes A Ghost.

6 Reasons School Spirits Is The High School Drama I Didn’t Know I Needed
As a movie enthusiast, I’m captivated by Xavier’s brief encounter with death and his ability to see spirits. There’s something intriguing about this storyline that leaves me craving for more depth. I can’t help but wonder if the creators could explore the concept further. Imagine if one of the living characters could communicate with all the ghosts, including Maddie, Xavier, and perhaps even the enigmatic figures haunting the school.
The idea of Xavier truly perishing at the school and transforming into a spirit is both heart-wrenching and intriguing. It would not only delve deeper into his character’s confusion and curiosity about ghosts but also address the emotional scar he shares with Maddie. Moreover, such a plot twist could potentially disrupt the budding relationship between Xavier and Nicole, adding an unexpected layer of complexity to the narrative.
Now, will any of these pan out? Who knows? I sure don’t.
Despite my suggestions seeming quite extreme, there are ongoing storylines and unresolved issues in the series “School Spirits” that might lead to any of these dramatic conclusions. As the show continues to air every Thursday, I’ll be monitoring these theories closely to see if I was right about predicting the series’ future events.
