In a new twist, it’s confirmed that Mckenna Grace, from Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, has joined the cast of Scream 7. It remains unclear whether Grace will be a victim trying to escape the notorious Ghostface or if she’ll take on the role of the masked killer. Regardless, Grace joins original series veteran Neve Campbell, who is reprising her role in the horror franchise for the first time since 2022’s Scream.

Besides Grace, who was recently mentioned by Deadline as a new addition, another fresh face is set to join the Scream series, which started with Wes Craven’s initial movie in 1996. In Scream 7, it will be revealed that Sidney Prescott (Campbell) has a daughter, and this young woman will become the latest character trying to outlive Ghostface’s terror. The role of Sidney’s cherished offspring has been given to 24-year-old actress Isabel May.

Most recently, she has been seen in “Masters of the Air” and “American Masters,” but it’s her roles as Veronica Duncan on “Young Sheldon” and Elsa Dutton in Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” prequels, including “1883” and the series starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, “1923,” for which she is most recognized.

‘Scream 7’ Will Focus on Neve Campbell’s Beloved Final Girl

It’s not yet clear if Courteney Cox will appear as Gale Weathers in Scream 7, but Entertainment Tonight reports that the upcoming sequel will primarily focus on Neve Campbell’s character, Sidney Prescott. With her absence in Scream VI due to contractual disagreements, it’s great news for fans that the ‘Scream Queen’ is now set to return, taking center stage once more to face off against the terrifying Ghostface.

Was it confirmed if Patrick Dempsey, who played Campbell’s love interest in Scream 3 and is now her on-screen husband in the franchise, will return? Unfortunately, while talking to ET, Campbell neither confirmed nor denied Dempsey’s participation. However, we can be certain that Sidney Prescott herself will indeed reappear. Campbell announced Sidney Prescott’s comeback back in March, and she also shared that creator Kevin Williamson would direct Scream 7, as stated in a social media post (via Instagram).
