As a seasoned cinephile with decades of horror movie-watching under my belt, I must say that the announcement of Courteney Cox returning as Gale Weathers in Scream 7 has me positively giddy with excitement! As reported by Variety, Courteney Cox has officially signed on to play Gale Weathers once again in Scream 7. Earlier hints suggested that she was privy to the behind-the-scenes workings of the upcoming sequel, but this is the first concrete confirmation that a contract has been sealed for her return. The Scream series is taking a different direction after parting ways with its two new potential franchise leads, instead concentrating on the character played by Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott – her daughter in particular.
Beyond just Cox, I’m thrilled to see that Neve Campbell, Isabel May, Mason Gooding, Celeste O’Connor, Mckenna Grace, Anna Camp, Asa Germann, and Sam Rechner are joining the cast of Scream 7. This upcoming movie promises a mix of fresh talent alongside familiar faces returning from the recent sequels. Unfortunately, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega won’t be rejoining the franchise for this installment.
