The Amazon Prime Video series titled “Secret Level” was a captivating anthology that delved into various iconic video game franchises with each episode. Following its debut in late 2024, fans have eagerly awaited additional episodes, hoping to see their favorite games transformed into individual episodes. Remarkably, the show’s creator, Tim Miller, along with supervising director Dave Wilson, have hinted that further episodes may be on the horizon, suggesting a prolonged existence for the series. Season 1 showcased titles such as “Armored Core“, “Dungeons & Dragons“, “Sifu“, “Warhammer 40,000“, “Mega-Man“, and a mind-blowing “Pac-Man” episode. However, gamers are aware that these are merely the tip of the iceberg in exploring the rich 60-year history of video games.
During an interview with The Direct, Tim Miller and Dave Wilson shared their plans for how long the series “Secret Level” might run on Prime Video, which is sure to excite fans. Miller mentioned that the list of games he intends to adapt in future seasons is quite extensive. Previously, Tim Miller has expressed his intention to transform iconic games such as “Pong” into a dark and absurd episode of “Secret Level.” The show’s creator suggested that with the number of games they plan to adapt, the series could potentially run for a very long time. He stated:
> With the extensive list of games we have planned to adapt, the show could continue for quite some time.
“We could get 10 seasons out of it!”
On December 10, 2024, the initial half of “Secret Level” Season 1 debuted on Amazon Prime Video, with the following half dropping a week later on December 17. The series garnered favorable responses from both viewers and critics, earning a 68% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, while the audience score stood higher at 74%. As soon as the final episodes of Season 1 were made available, it was announced that Amazon Prime Video had greenlit another season. However, a release date for Season 2 has yet to be disclosed.
What Games Could Appear in ‘Secret Level’ Season 2?
In an engaging discussion during our chat, Tim Miller and Dave Wilson shared some tantalizing ideas for potential games in the upcoming seasons of Secret Level. If you found season one exhilarating, brace yourself – we’re about to take things to a whole new level!
Wilson mentioned, “Everyone has their memorable gaming moments, and for me, those are undeniably games like Wolfenstein or Doom. The list continues with Dragons Lair, Space Quest, Doom, just to name a few. I’ve got an extensive record of games that I’d love to revisit, such as Prince of Persia. Ideally, I’d have Jake Gyllenhaal star in it once more, recreating the experience in a humorous take on what could have been.
For Tim Miller, the choices become increasingly specialized. “It’s just games that you’d really appreciate,” he started. “I mean, why not create a new version of Wing Commando? Why not make a very serious Joust.” Many enthusiasts have compiled their own wish lists for upcoming seasons. Halo is one of the most popular choices among fans. However, during an interview with Collider last December, Miller and Wilson disclosed that they had already proposed a Halo episode to Microsoft (the franchise’s owners), but their proposal was promptly rejected.
