We’ve barely made it past two months into the 2025 TV lineup, yet some might argue that “The Traitors” has already secured the title of the best reality show for the year. The third season, to put it simply, is remarkably messy in a delightful way, but as I continue watching, I can’t help but think it could be even more impressive. Having blazed through the first two seasons and catching up, I have an audacious idea for the series that aims to make viewers feel more like loyal followers.
While engrossed in Season 3 of “The Traitors” through my Peacock Premium membership, an idea struck me on how to enhance every future season even more. It originates from a deep yearning to participate and grasp the real experience of being utterly out of the loop within this mind-boggling reality series.
The Traitors Is Great, But I Dislike How I’m Robbed Of What It’s Like To Be A Faithful
In contrast to previous articles discussing rule modifications for “The Traitors“, my concern lies primarily in the production aspect rather than the rules themselves. The issue arises because we learn who the game’s Traitors are from the start, which means we’re not as blindsided or mystified as the Faithfuls are. This lack of suspense takes away an essential part of the experience that I crave, especially after observing some incredibly inaccurate guesses made by contestants over the past three seasons.
Once in a while, it would be fascinating to find myself as puzzled as the other players in the game, hunting for signs or indicators that someone could be a Deceiver. Of course, even then, it wouldn’t be flawless because we’re observing an abridged version of the events, and spectators will likely form opinions and make their predictions. But consider the excitement of guessing correctly who the Deceiver is before it was disclosed? That would surely be a thrilling experience!
I’m jealous of the proud expressions Faithful receive when they successfully identify the cunning Big Brother player behind all the turmoil. I yearn for that sense of accomplishment in unmasking a Deceiver before the unveiling, regardless of its effect on the game. Since we can’t actually play as Traitors from afar, this is one aspect that I believe The Traitors could effortlessly offer.

What If We Didn’t Know The Traitors For The First Three Episodes?
In simpler terms, during Alan’s annual journey around the roundtable choosing the Traitors for a new season, the screen goes dark. The action resumes once the selection is complete, and naturally, the Traitors would skip their usual confessional interviews with the contestants who have been chosen as Traitors.
For the upcoming three installments of “The Traitors”, viewers are left guessing about the identities of each contestant. While the show continues to present challenges, depict murders, and capture cast reactions as usual, it will withhold revealing who the Traitor is. Instead, the episodes aim to maintain a balanced portrayal of all participants, though some may receive more attention due to editing. It’s important to note that this method won’t be foolproof, but it should still provide an engaging experience for viewers.
Although it might sound quite extraordinary, I believe there’s no other method that could allow viewers at home to truly immerse themselves in the thrill of playing “The Traitors.” Naturally, we all tune in to witness the cunning plots and shocking twists, but I suspect many others, like myself, would be intrigued to find out if they possess the skills to identify a Traitor and eliminate them from the game before they create chaos.

The Fourth Episode Would Reveal The Traitors, Show Why They Made Their Decisions, And Then Proceed As Normal
Moving forward, following the conclusion of the initial three episodes, “The Traitors” might introduce a fourth episode to disclose the identities of the chosen ones. This special episode would serve as a recap of the first three installments, detailing each player’s moves and the reasons behind their eliminations or exits from the game. Given that fans are eager for more “The Traitors”, wouldn’t anyone be disappointed by additional episodes? The fourth episode could also offer insights into the Traitors’ perspectives at the game’s onset.

Just As The Traitors Season 3’s Gameplay Was Frustrating Me It Was Saved By… Tom Sandoval?
In Episode 4, “The Traitors” would already be a few weeks into their new season. This gives fans ample opportunity to debate who among them is truly a traitor, and who can be trusted as a faithful member. There’s also speculation about Fergus’ involvement in the ongoing events, a character I find questionable, and I’m unsure of his exact purpose at the castle beyond running errands for Alan Cumming.
Following the climactic reveal episode in The Traitors, the remaining episodes will likely follow the pattern established in Seasons 1 through 3. Such a format shift might seem challenging for the series, but I believe it’s fitting because it preserves the elements that make the reality show appealing. Moreover, each season has been distinct from its predecessor, so I don’t foresee this change in episode presentation causing significant issues that the crew can’t manage.
Although I wish the producers of “The Traitors” might consider my suggestion and find it beneficial for future seasons, it’s unlikely that they will make significant changes to the show. As a fresh and successful reality series in its genre, it currently holds a strong appeal for audiences on streaming platforms. Given its current popularity, it makes sense for the show to maintain its status quo and continue airing seasons as usual rather than risk altering the format.
On Thursdays at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time, you can watch the latest episodes of “The Traitors” on Peacock. With the third season halfway over, it’s a great time to dive into the tumultuous seasons that have passed and get up to speed before the final episodes start airing.
