See Young Sheldon's Iain Armitage Make The Cutest Big Bang Theory Reference While Meeting Montana Jordan's Child For The First Time

As a dedicated fan of “The Big Bang Theory” and “Young Sheldon,” I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia every time I hear news about these beloved shows. The recent meeting between Montana Jordan and Iain Armitage, and the adorable video of Armitage singing “Soft Kitty” to Jordan’s newborn daughter, Emma Rae, brought back so many memories of the iconic scene from TBBT that left a lasting impression on me.

As a longtime fan of “The Big Bang Theory” and “Young Sheldon,” I’m excited to see Georgie and Mandy’s new show making its way to CBS’ fall TV schedule. However, I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed to hear that Iain Armitage won’t be reprising his role as young Sheldon Cooper beyond guest appearances.

Montana Jordan became a father for the first time in May. More recently, Iain Armitage had the opportunity to visit Emma Rae Jordan, Montana’s baby girl. Here’s a video of Armitage holding the child while humming a popular tune that fans of “The Big Bang Theory” and “Young Sheldon” will recognize:

As a gamer and avid viewer of “Young Sheldon,” I hadn’t realized how much I was missing out on until I stumbled upon a clip of Iain Armitage singing “Soft Kitty” to a young character. It was an unexpected treat that my weekly binge-watching sessions with my Netflix subscription didn’t offer. This heartwarming scene brought a new layer of depth to Armitage’s portrayal of Sheldon, showing a side we don’t often get to see. Watching Georgie and Sheldon’s fictional brotherly bond flourish was both surprising and delightful, as their relationship hadn’t developed until much later in the show, following their father George Sr.’s passing.

For people who are more accustomed to “Young Sheldon” and less acquainted with “The Big Bang Theory,” it’s worth noting that the beloved song “Soft Kitty” originally appeared in “Young Sheldon.” To witness the entire episode where this tune is introduced, consider subscribing to Max and streaming Season 1 Episode 11, titled “The Pancake Batter Anomaly.” Alternatively, those only interested in the specific scene can watch it in the video below, kindly provided by CBS.

Despite the amusing reaction from the audience, that particular scene still leaves me feeling uneasy. I’m thankful for Iain Armitage’s soothing rendition of a song for a little baby now, helping me erase those unsettling images from my memory. The cast of “Young Sheldon” continues to bring joy even after the show has concluded.

I’m really looking forward to watching “Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage” when it comes out, not just for the title couple, but also for the appearance of other Cooper family members. My anticipation is particularly high for a potential spinoff focusing on Missy Cooper’s story following George’s death, as I believe their mother-daughter relationship holds immense potential for an engaging narrative. In the meantime, I’m excited to see how Georgie and Mandy handle their new married life and parenthood, and what fascinating experiences come along with it.

While anticipating the debut of “Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage, remember you can watch “Young Sheldon” anytime on Netflix and Max. I was hesitant at first but grew to enjoy it, so I recommend giving it a try if you’re undecided.
