SEGA Is Bringing Like a Dragon To Roblox In Bizarre Crossover

Could you imagine a collaboration between “Like a Dragon” and Roblox? Well, your dreams are coming true! Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has officially announced that they’re developing a virtual world based on the once-named Yakuza series.

The project is being led by GeekOut, a firm specializing in creating unique experiences within Roblox. In the past, they have collaborated on various popular intellectual properties such as Doraemon, Attack on Titan, and the Japanese game show known as Takeshi’s Castle.

In a statement, GeekOut revealed their intention to preserve the quirky allure and whimsy that characterize the Like a Dragon series, without providing specifics regarding the kind of gameplay the upcoming experience might offer.

It’s not the first Sega game that has been turned into a Roblox experience. In 2022, during the promotional period for Sonic The Hedgehog 2 movie, they introduced Sonic Speed Simulator. This free-roam version offers Green Hills and Chemical Plant landscapes with engaging activities such as PvP races, ring collection challenges spanning two worlds, and more.

Pondering over the possibility of a Yakuza-like Dragon and Roblox partnership seems intriguing. This game series is renowned for its breathtaking, unconventional stages and diverse open-world engagements, such as arcade play, go-kart racing, and even the restoration of an abandoned tropical resort island.

It seems evident that Sega is aiming for a massive mainstream penetration with its Yakuza series (Like a Dragon). Regrettably, their latest television version didn’t reach the level of success they hoped for. On the gaming front, fans have been enjoying quite a culinary feast lately.

Previously this year, in February, the spin-off game “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” was released to positive critiques.

We’ll learn everything about the Yakuza-themed Roblox experience, “Like a Dragon,” when we gather more information. Let’s hope for some sing-along fun in the meantime; the answer lies in the future.
