Semler Scientific buys more Bitcoin, raising holdings to 2,321 BTC

Between December 16 and January 10, Semler Scientific, Inc. purchased a total of 237 Bitcoins, with each Bitcoin costing approximately $98,267 on average.

As a researcher, I can confirm that our recent acquisitions have expanded our Bitcoin (BTC) portfolio to a total of 2,321 coins, as detailed in our latest press statement.

According to reports, Semler’s total investment in Bitcoin currently amounts to approximately $191.9 million. This was acquired on average for around $82,687 per Bitcoin. These investments were financed using funds generated from an at-the-market offering and the company’s operational cash flow.

Previously, the maker of medical devices mentioned they are highly committed, or extremely dedicated, to expanding and safeguarding their Bitcoin reserves, following the accumulation of more than 1,050 Bitcoins.

Doug Murphy-Chutorian, the CEO of Semler Scientific, stated in June that we plan on persistently following our approach of buying Bitcoins using hard cash.

Semler Scientific‘s Bitcoin reserve 

Starting from May 2024, the company disclosed their preliminary plans for holding Bitcoin in their treasury. Since that announcement, shares of the company with the trading symbol ‘SMLR’ have surged more than 115% according to Google’s data.

By January 10th, Semler has amassed a gross total of $121.8 million through ATM sales. In December 2024, they increased their ATM offerings by an additional $50 million, raising the total to $150 million under an agreement with Cantor Fitzgerald.
