The non-profit organization responsible for creating Sesame Street, known as Sesame Workshop, has appointed longtime executive in digital media, Joseph Giraldi, to the position of chief operating officer.
Under the leadership of the newly appointed CEO Sherrie Westin, Giraldi – previously a co-founder at CJBK Media Group – has been tasked with a priority project: securing a new broadcast platform for upcoming episodes of “Sesame Street”. This move comes following Warner Bros. Discovery’s decision to not renew their output deal with HBO and Max.
Changes are being made to the long-running children’s series, with season 56 scheduled to premiere in fall 2025. Instead of the magazine-style format, the show will now consist of two longer narrative segments, interspersed with a fresh animated segment titled “Tales From 123“.
