Seth Rogen Just Called [This Actor] The Funniest Person Alive!

According to Seth Rogen, it appears that Arnold Schwarzenegger isn’t considered the funniest action movie legend currently alive; at least, that’s his take on it. The comedic star and co-creator of Apple TV+’s latest comedy series has shared who, in his opinion, holds that title instead, as he perused the Criterion Closet.

During the latest episode of his series, Seth Rogen expressed that Jackie Chan, his co-star from Kung Fu Panda, is unquestionably the most hilarious person currently alive. After dusting off a copy of Jackie Chan: Emergence of a Superstar and flipping through the collection of Criterion Blu-rays, he declared, “Jackie Chan is simply the best. He’s the funniest living human being, no contest.” Rogen has previously collaborated with action movie icon Chan on DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda franchise, providing voices for characters in the initial three animated films. Additionally, Chan lent his voice to Splinter in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, a project co-written by Rogen.

Currently, Rogen is playing the lead role in “The Studio,” where he stars as Matt Remick, the new head of struggling production company Continental Studios. The series chronicles Matt’s efforts to manage egotistical artists and their corporate bosses while producing quality films. The comedy series premiered on March 26 with a double episode release, followed by new episodes each Wednesday through May 21 exclusively on Apple TV+. On Rotten Tomatoes, “The Studio” currently boasts a 96% fresh rating, only slightly lower than its initial perfect 100% score from last month.

Jackie Chan Returns to The Karate Kid Franchise

In the upcoming summer blockbuster, “Karate Kid: Legends,” Chan will reappear on the silver screen, marking his return in the sixth installment of the enduring martial arts drama series, “The Karate Kid.” In 2010’s “The Karate Kid,” Chan portrayed Mr. Han. Interestingly, this initial film was initially conceived as a fresh start for the franchise, existing independently. However, the forthcoming sequel will establish the 2010 movie within the Miyagiverse, a term used by the creators of “Cobra Kai” to encompass any project in the “Karate Kid” universe that includes Mr. Miyagi or his associates, thereby placing Chan alongside Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso in this shared narrative world.

Following a heartbreaking family incident, kung fu virtuoso Li Fong (Wang) is compelled to relocate from his Beijing home and settle in New York City with his mom. Struggling to leave behind his past, he strives to adapt to his new schoolmates, yet finds himself drawn into trouble regardless of his desire for peace. When a friend requires aid, Li joins a karate competition – however, his abilities alone prove insufficient. In search of assistance, he turns to the original Karate Kid, Daniel LaRusso (Macchio), who instructs him on a fresh method of combat. Blending their two martial arts techniques, they prepare for an epic showdown in the ultimate martial arts tournament, as depicted in the synopsis for Karate Kid: Legends.

The Studio is streaming on Apple TV+, while Karate Kid: Legends hits theaters on May 30.
