As a die-hard fan who has witnessed the rollercoaster ride of Bollywood for decades, I can confidently say that the bond between Aanand L Rai and Shah Rukh Khan transcends the fickle world of box office successes and flops. In 2018, Aanand L Rai’s highly anticipated movie Zero, starring Shah Rukh Khan, faced a disappointing reception at the box office. Despite the film’s failure, the relationship between Shah Rukh and the director has remained strong. In a recent conversation with Showsha, Aanand openly dismissed any tension between them, stating that a prominent figure like SRK would never engage in such behavior.

Aanand expressed that Shah Rukh Khan is not simply focused on films; rather, he has a depth beyond that, which was particularly evident during the production of Zero. This sentiment was shared by Aanand because he felt that the creation of Zero wasn’t solely about filmmaking, but also about gaining insights into life. “In essence, I picked up the skill of being resilient from him. He’s an exceptional fighter, indeed a master at it. He knows how to recover swiftly and carve his own path. Regardless of successes or failures, Shah Rukh Khan remains unchanged.” (53-year-old stated)

The film titled “Zero,” which premiered on Christmas 2018, centered around a man of short stature portrayed by Shah Rukh Khan. With high expectations as one of the year’s most anticipated films, it unfortunately received a deluge of poor critiques and dismal box office earnings. In addition to Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif, Abhay Deol, R. Madhavan, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Tigmanshu Dhulia, and Sheeba Chaddha played significant roles in the movie.

Anand L Rai is currently delighting in the initial responses to his recently released movie, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, which began streaming on Netflix on August 9th. The film features Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey, Sunny Kaushal, and Jimmy Shergill in prominent roles. For his upcoming project, Rai is teaming up with Dhanush for Tere Ishq Mein.

In contrast, Shah Rukh Khan will appear next in a film titled King. It has been exclusively disclosed by TopMob that Abhay Verma, known for his role in Munjya, is joining this Siddharth Anand production, along with Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan. The script is finalized, and the producers aim to begin filming by November 2024.
