Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan are not ‘delulu’, says Varun Dhawan; opens up on the need for Bollywood to reinvent for relevance

As a long-time follower and admirer of Varun Dhawan’s career trajectory, I find his recent statements about the need for reinvention within Bollywood both insightful and inspiring. His experience in the industry spans over a decade, allowing him to witness its growth and evolution firsthand.

For over a decade, Varun Dhawan has been a part of the Indian film industry. Throughout his career’s ups and downs, he’s witnessed Bollywood flourish. Now, as a new father, he believes it’s crucial to modernize the industry to remain contemporary. He also expressed that stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan aren’t out of touch and are fully informed about current events.

During his conversation with Ranveer Allahabadia on his podcast, Varun Dhawan expressed that both stars and filmmakers need to progress. He explained that those in influential roles, who have been following the same practices for years, “have reached an age where change is necessary.” He further stated that despite being in control, they often fail to appreciate the significance of adapting to changing times.

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share some thoughts echoed by the esteemed actor of Bhediya: Adaptation is essential for relevance, even for me. When the conversation steered towards reinvention becoming increasingly challenging with the passage of time, I acknowledged its difficulty yet emphasized that it’s often a matter of people being reluctant to embrace change. When pressed about the prevalence of ‘yes men’ in our industry, I offered my perspective that this notion doesn’t necessarily apply to the bigger stars.

As an ardent admirer, I’ve noticed that this peculiar syndrome seems to afflict those still striving for recognition or yet to reach their pinnacle. However, it doesn’t apply to individuals who have already established themselves as stars. Stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan – they are not delusional. They are fully cognizant of the goings-on in the world around them, as the Bawaal actor eloquently put it.

Lately, Varun had a private chat with us where he shared his wisdom for aspiring Bollywood actors. Dhawan suggested that they should leverage social media to its maximum potential and showcase their talent to filmmakers and producers. He commented, “I’m not advocating that everyone should be an influencer, but whatever you create or share, make sure it gets noticed. As the saying goes, ‘What can be seen, can be sold.'” The actor expressed this viewpoint.

Currently, regarding his professional life, Varun is involved in a project titled “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari” alongside Janhvi Kapoor.
