As a seasoned observer of Bollywood’s dynamic landscape, I can confidently say that Shah Rukh Khan stands tall as a paragon of professional integrity and camaraderie within the industry. His unwavering commitment to his word, as demonstrated in Mudassar Aziz’s anecdote about Dulha Mil Gaya, is not just impressive but also commendable.
Shah Rukh Khan has frequently stepped in to support numerous Bollywood stars, whether they are his fellow actors, directors, or rising talents. Not too long ago, director Mudassar Aziz spoke highly of the superstar and reminisced about how he upheld his promise and made a unique appearance in his film “Dulha Mil Gaya.”
In a chat with director Siddharth Kannan (of Khel Khel Mein fame), he reflected on the production of the 2010 romantic comedy, stating that several things didn’t go as planned. However, Shah Rukh Khan, renowned for his role in Jawan, remained committed and fulfilled his promise to producer Vivek Vaswani by making an extended cameo appearance in the film, which starred Fardeen Khan, Sushmita Sen, and Ishita Sharma in significant roles.
Aziz emphasized that Shah Rukh Khan had always been committed to them and never intended to abandon their movie. In fact, he honored his promise. “He’s a ‘Pathaan,’ I’m a ‘Pathaan,’ and I know our word means something,” Mudassar Aziz declared, further stating that SRK told Vivek, “If the director believes I’m needed for a special appearance, I’ll be there.”
Continuing with the interview, the filmmaker openly acknowledged that neither Shah Rukh Khan’s special appearance nor any other factor could shield the movie from becoming a flop at the box office. However, he graciously showed up and maintained his friendly demeanor, as the industry has always come to expect from him. Aziz also described SRK as a generous soul.
Discussing the reasons behind the unexpected struggles of his film, Mudassar expressed that everything took an unfortunate turn. Finances were constantly depleted, a set fell apart, and the appearances of the stars varied throughout production. Tragically, Fardeen, Vivek, and he each lost their fathers during this period.
Following the presentation of “Khel Khel Mein” this past month, director Mudassar Aziz is now set to oversee the follow-up of the 2019 film, “Pati Patni Aur Woh.” According to earlier reports from Bollywood Hungama, actor Kartik Aaryan expressed a fondness for the script of PPAW 2. The production team is currently awaiting final approval from the actor and anticipates starting production on the film shortly.
