As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for the nuances of Bollywood, I must say that Manisha Koirala‘s journey in the industry is as captivating as her performances. Her candidness and resilience are truly inspiring.
Mani Ratnam’s movie “Dil Se,” which celebrated its 26th anniversary recently, continues to be regarded as a cult classic. The on-screen duo of Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala was adored by viewers. However, have you ever pondered why this couple didn’t work together after this film? Recently, in an interview, the star of “Heeramandi” shed light on this matter and stated, “In this profession, it’s typically the male leads who decide with whom they wish to collaborate, not the female leads.”
In an interview with Zoom, Manisha Koirala disclosed that following her work in ‘Dil Se’, she collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan on a film titled ‘Guddu’. However, this particular project is not widely recognized. She went on to explain that in the movie industry, it’s often the leading actors who get to choose their co-stars, rather than the actresses – a statement that subtly suggested Shah Rukh Khan’s selection process for roles.
In mentioning her top-notch roles, Manisha happily includes Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se, Bombay, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Khamoshi in her list of distinguished performances.
Interestingly, even though Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala’s film is highly regarded now, it didn’t fare well at the box office when initially released. In fact, director Mani Ratnam has attributed his less than fluent Hindi language as a possible reason for its underperformance.
As an ardent fan, I can’t help but share my thoughts on a recent revelation from the charismatic actress who stole our hearts in Sanju. In a candid interview with Filmfare, she bravely delved into her romantic life, confessing that it hasn’t been a bed of roses. She admitted that she seems to have a knack for falling for men who aren’t quite right for her, leaving me, and I’m sure many others, hoping that her future love story will be nothing short of magical.
After being unattached for approximately five to six years, she admitted that she isn’t keen on socializing since she feels there are personal issues she needs to address and improve. This is how the actress Sanju put it.
As a dedicated follower, I’ve recently caught sight of myself in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, playing the character of Mallikajaan. The response from the audience to my performance has been overwhelmingly positive, and now that the second season is on the horizon, I can hardly contain my excitement about what Mallikajaan has planned for her adoring fans.
