Shah Rukh Khan’s King Uncle co-star Susmita Mukherjee says he has ‘Godly’ energy, recalls superstar taking wife Gauri on a ride between shots: ‘Itne cute hai ye’

As a long-time follower and admirer of Bollywood, I have had the privilege of witnessing the careers of many iconic stars, but few have captivated my heart like Shah Rukh Khan. Having grown up watching his films, I have been fortunate enough to see him evolve from a charming young hero to a seasoned actor with an unparalleled charm and charisma.

As a devoted admirer, throughout my illustrious film journey, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with many esteemed artists – one such luminary is Susmita Mukherjee. In the annals of cinema history, we shared the silver screen in the 1993 action-comedy film King Uncle, under the visionary direction of Rakesh Roshan. Recently, during an enlightening interview, this venerable actress reminisced about our time together on set, recounting how, between takes, SRK and Gauri Khan would enjoy a spin on the merry-go-round. She affectionately referred to King Khan as ‘a remarkable individual’.

Susmita Mukherjee is a well-established actress in Bollywood, who portrayed the character Shanti in King Uncle. In an engaging chat with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, she reminisced about their past experiences. They were filming at Fantasy Land, where Shah Rukh Khan wasn’t yet married. She vividly remembered seeing Gauri Khan wearing a petite dress and after riding the merry-go-round, they both returned between takes, still catching their breath.

I wholeheartedly concur with the sentiment that Jawan is an exceptional individual. Not only is he sincere and genuine, but his presence exudes a divine energy that leaves one in awe. As the Patna Shuklla actress, I had the pleasure of sharing screen space with him, yet unfortunately, after the filming, I didn’t get the opportunity to meet King Khan personally.

In terms of his career, Shah Rukh Khan will soon appear in director Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming action film titled King, alongside his daughter Suhana Khan who is making her big screen debut following her initial foray into showbiz through Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. It has been reported that the team plans to officially announce the movie on Shah Rukh’s birthday, which falls on November 2, 2024. As per Mid-Day reports, the first shooting schedule is scheduled to commence in Budapest in January due to its cold weather conditions.

Under the direction of Sujoy Ghosh, the upcoming film titled King will have Siddharth Anand as one of its producers. This action-thriller features Shah Rukh Khan as a don and Suhana, his protégé. Abhay Verma has been cast to play the role of Suhana’s romantic interest, while there are expectations that Abhishek Bachchan will take on an antagonist role in the upcoming movie.
