As a die-hard fan of Bollywood royalty, I can hardly contain my excitement! The news that Shah Rukh Khan and his family will be reprising their roles in the prequel to The Lion King is like manna from heaven! I’ve been a fan since King Khan’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge days, and seeing him bring his magic to Mufasa, alongside his son Aryan as Simba, is a dream come true.
Shah Rukh Khan and his oldest son Aryan Khan are returning to the big screen, this time with a prequel to the 2019 remake of the 1994 American musical drama film, The Lion King. In this new project, both father and son will once again use their voices for the photorealistic animated characters, Mufasa and Simba respectively. Even the youngest member of their family, AbRam Khan, has joined in, providing the voice for young Mufasa in the upcoming film set to premiere on December 20th.
Upon learning about this exciting news, many people on the internet believed it was a flawless choice of casting. From Anil Kapoor and Isha Koppikar to Meiyang Chang, everyone agreed that nothing could be more fitting than the actors playing the roles of Mufasa and his cubs in The Lion King remake. In fact, Fighter actor Hrithik Roshan expressed admiration for “the khans” (possibly a reference to Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, or both), while Meiyang Chang commented, “What could be more perfect than the king and his cubs voicing the king and his cubs?”
