Supriya Pathak has recently shared insights into her personal life and her relationship with actor Shahid Kapoor. In a recent discussion, she talked about temporarily pausing her acting career to focus on parenting and how Shahid, being the son of Pankaj Kapur from his previous marriage, has always been an integral part of their family.

After her marriage, Supriya chose to take a break from acting to concentrate on raising her children, Sanah and Ruhaan. At the time, Shahid, Pankaj’s son from his previous marriage with Neelima Azeem, was already grown up and had been an integral part of their family life. During this period, Supriya made a deliberate choice to stay at home.

Supriya and Pankaj Kapur have been married for 37 years. According to her, the secret to their strong marriage lies in being good friends. In an interview with Filmfare, she expressed that she enjoys spending quality time with her husband. Frequently, she playfully asks their children to give them some space so they can enjoy a peaceful cup of tea together. Their kids, Sanah and Ruhaan, sometimes poke fun at this by saying that their parents are happier when they’re not around.

Supriya shared that until her daughter Sanah reached 12 years old, she didn’t hold a job. Although it was by her own choice, she openly acknowledged that not working left her feeling uneasy. She even joked about her husband sometimes calling her a “crybaby” due to her frequent complaints about not having work while he still had acting projects. However, she was confident that she had made the right decision for her kids.

Observing her difficulties, Pankaj decided to act thoughtfully. He established a production firm and brought Supriya aboard as executive producer. At first, she was unfamiliar with the intricacies of production work, but she quickly picked it up on-the-job. For five to six years, they jointly managed the company, allowing Supriya to maintain her creative outlet while managing her domestic duties effectively.
