Shahid Kapoor’s diet

Shahid Kapoor openly discusses his vegetarian lifestyle, which he adopted after reading Brian Hines’ book “Life is Fair: The Law of Cause and Effect” in 2022. In the interview with Curly Tales, he explained that he felt uncomfortable about consuming animal products for pleasure, so he made the choice to become a vegetarian. However, he mentioned that he occasionally consumes dairy products.

Throughout our chat, Shahid mentioned he prefers to initiate his mornings with a light meal such as uthappams, idlis, or similar foods. He shared the reason behind this habit, stating, “I enjoy having a warm meal because it’s said to be beneficial for your body.” Additionally, he noted that this advice is particularly emphasized in Ayurvedic practices.

During the interview, Shahid shared insights about his diet and expressed a fondness for rice, claiming it’s gentle on the digestive system. He admitted to choosing rice over wheat frequently, hence consuming a significant amount of rice in his meals. Occasionally, he also enjoys oats, but not regularly. The actor further explained, “I prefer starting my day with simple carbohydrates rather than complex ones that require longer digestion periods.”

At midday, I shared my mealtime plans with Shahid, mentioning that I was considering Indian cuisine or perhaps falafel. Occasionally, I opt for Chinese dishes such as stir-fried vegetables, or delicacies like sushi and tofu. He emphasized the abundance of vegetarian options available.

During the interview, Shahid was inquired about his preferred late-night meal. As he is quite conscious of his diet, the actor known for Kabir Singh responded, “I’m quite picky; I don’t eat at night. I aim to have a 12-hour gap between meals. On a good day, it might be 8 pm, but due to work, sometimes it gets delayed until 9 pm, and I really dislike that.”

On The Ranveer Show, Shahid Kapoor was inquired about how he sculpted his physique for movies such as Kaminey and Udta Punjab while following a vegetarian diet. He disclosed that for months, he had been consuming the same meals. His diet consisted mainly of high protein foods and extensive workouts. However, Shahid mentioned that further muscle building was no longer feasible due to his body system’s incompatibility with it, and he can no longer handle large quantities of protein.

Shahid also revealed his dislike for certain food items which were mushrooms and truffle.
