Shakira spent the weekend in the emergency room.
On Sunday, the singer disclosed via an Instagram story that she had been admitted to the hospital the previous day, forcing her to cancel her upcoming performance in Peru.
I regretfully have to share some unfortunate news. Late last night, I had to rush to the emergency room due to an issue with my abdomen and at present, I’m admitted to the hospital. My doctors, who are taking care of me now, have made it clear that my condition isn’t stable enough for me to perform tonight.
She expressed, “It’s deeply disappointing that I can’t perform today. I’ve eagerly anticipated reconnecting with my fantastic fans right here in Peru.
The singer was hoping to be out and in good health by Sunday, but a fresh date for the postponed Peru concert is currently being arranged.
On Sunday, she expressed gratitude in another message, saying, “I appreciate each of your heartfelt messages. They provide me with incredible strength! I hold you deeply within my heart.
The hospital scare comes amid Shakira’s Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.
Recently at the 67th Grammy Awards, Shakira took the stage not only to perform but also to receive an award for Best Latin Pop Album for her album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. During her acceptance speech, she voiced her support for immigrants in the United States, countering President Donald Trump’s immigration policies. She declared, “I want to dedicate this award to all my immigrant brothers and sisters residing here. You are valued, you matter, and I will continue to fight alongside you.
