From assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Bajirao Mastani to making her acting debut with Kabir Khan, and now sharing the screen with Alia Bhatt in Alpha, her life is a testament to hard work and perseverance.
Actress Sharvari Wagh is currently engrossed in shooting the movie Alpha alongside Alia Bhatt. She’s also basking in the glory of her latest films, Munjya, Maharaj, and Vedaa. Wagh first appeared on screen with Kabir Khan’s The Forgotten Army: Azaadi Ke Liye, though before that she served as an assistant director on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. Lately, she disclosed that her initial plan was to debut in a Bhansali project and even got selected for it, but the venture didn’t come to fruition due to some technical issues.
In an interview with News18 Showsha, she shared that her opportunity to become an assistant director came about during a meeting for a movie starring Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, and Deepika Padukone, which was being produced by the filmmaker. She explained, “I had initially auditioned for a film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s production house, and I had made it to the shortlist.” Unfortunately, the project was delayed or shelved altogether.
She mentions that they conducted a few workshops initially, but due to some technical issues with the film, there was a temporary halt. They needed to find solutions and revise the script accordingly.
At that moment, she brought up the idea of helping them out. She pointed out that Bajirao Mastani was being made at the same time, and she shared her wish to join as an intern for that project. They were receptive and delighted to extend the offer to her.
Simultaneously on her professional journey, she’s currently involved in filming for Shiv Rawail’s movie Alpha alongside Alia Bhatt. This production is categorized under YRF’s action genre and is expected to release in cinemas by 2025. They recently finished shooting in Kashmir and posted photos from the set, before returning to Mumbai. It was previously disclosed that Alia Bhatt will assume the role of a super-agent within the YRF Spy Universe, joining the likes of Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Shah Rukh Khan.
According to TopMob’s report, it appears that Bobby Deol will play the villain, while Anil Kapoor is speculated to join the cast. The film, titled “Jayeshbhai Jordaar,” is helmed by director Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra.
