She’s Back! First Teaser Trailer For Killer Robot Sequel M3GAN 2.0 (WATCH)

The beloved robotic companion returns in the official trailer for M3GAN 2.0, the fittingly named sequel to last year’s techno-thriller hit, M3GAN, which is now available for purchase from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

The brief 47-second video, premiered during the 67th Grammy Awards on February 2, 2025, features the main doll doing popular dance steps to Chappell Roan’s “Femininomenon” and hints that she will make a return to cinemas with even more excitement in June.

In the sequel, Gerard Johnstone once again takes the director’s chair, set two years after the first film. The story delves into pressing issues concerning the unsettling growth of artificial intelligence. After presuming M3GAN to be completely destroyed, roboticist Gemma (Allison Williams) has since gained fame as an author and a champion for government control over AI technology. At the same time, her rebellious niece Cady (Violet McGraw), now a teenager, defies her aunt’s protective regulations with growing independence.

However, here’s something Gemma isn’t aware of: The technology that made M3GAN potentially lethal is still in existence and is being utilized by a defense contractor for the development of a new, powerful military tool named Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno from Ahsoka, Pacific Rim: Uprising)). Just like the initial M3GAN, Amelia eventually grows weary of being commanded by humans and rebels against her makers. The only one who might be able to halt her, possibly? That’s right – it could be M3GAN again (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis). In an attempt to counteract Amelia, Gemma brings back her deadly creation and equips her with advanced upgrades to enhance her chances in the battle against Amelia.

In addition to our familiar faces, Brian Jordan Alvarez as corporate thief Cole, Jen Van Epps portraying Gemma’s ex-colleague from Funki, Tess, we have some fresh talent joining us: Aristotle Athari known for his role in Silicon Valley, Timm Sharp from Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and Jemaine Clement of Flight of the Concords complete our ensemble cast.
