Nevertheless, Ludo collapsing at Morgan’s home gave me quite a scare, an unease that lingers still. Consequently, when I had the opportunity to interview Amirah J, the actress portraying Ava – our leading lady’s daughter – I found myself inquiring about this unsettling scene. Furthermore, it sparked thoughts in me regarding how this event could potentially influence Season 2, given its renewal.
Following Ludo’s unexpected and seemingly stress-induced collapse, I queried Amirah J about her feelings upon reading the script and observing her character’s stepfather falling in a concerning manner. She initially expressed alarm at this event, but was eager to film it. Interestingly, when it came to Ava’s response to this particular scene – a scene where her mother wasn’t present, by the way – Amirah mentioned reaching out to Morgan, as she detailed during an interview with TopMob.
In essence, she’s deeply concerned about contacting her mother and seeking assistance for her, while also trying to figure out how to support her step-father, whom she holds dear. Since she’s just a teenager, she’s struggling with the complexities of the situation and isn’t quite sure what the best course of action should be.
She’s right, it’s a scary and overwhelming instant, and Ava isn’t sure what to do during it.
For me, it was evident that Morgan’s balance between work and personal life might become more problematic at several junctures. Therefore, I inquired from Amirah J regarding this matter, and she responded:

Pondering on this, I can’t help but wonder how this strain will play out in the series when it returns to our screens for Season 2 in 2025.
I’ve been wondering about how Morgan’s job might affect her relationship with Ludo and her kids. Although they have a good arrangement in place, Kaitlin Olson’s character frequently works extra hours, and detective work can be demanding and time-consuming, which can be challenging to balance with three children.
As she delves deeper into her work during her sophomore season, I believe we’ll notice how the strains of her job start affecting her family dynamics, particularly her relationships with her children and ex-spouse. His breakdown was not an isolated incident; it underscored the pressure that encompasses the entire family, not merely Morgan.
As the story progresses, one may wonder about the dynamics between her ex, their children, and her. Will they harbor resentment or offer support? Can they strike a balance? These significant issues are likely to be explored further in depth during Season 2.
