Rohit Roy was involved in Apoorva Lakhia’s action-packed thriller movie titled “Shootout at Lokhandwala,” which featured stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, Arbaaz Khan, Tusshar Kapoor, Shabbir Ahluwalia and numerous others. In this blockbuster film, Roy portrayed a significant character. However, to fit into the role, he had to follow an extreme weight-loss diet, shedding 16 kg in just under a month. In an interview with Cyrus Broacha on his YouTube channel, Rohit Roy discussed his fitness routine and the extreme diet he undertook to appear slim for the film Shootout at Lokhandwala in 2007. Roy confessed that he followed a “stupid” diet and admitted, “I will never do that again.” He further explained that since he needed to portray a specific look in the actioner, he subjected himself to this ordeal and lost approximately 16 kg in less than 25-26 days. “I was on a water diet,” he disclosed, describing it as an intense experience.
Roy continued by emphasizing the potential dangers of the diet, which could severely impact one’s internal organs. He shared startling anecdotes about actors who attempted similar regimens, some of whom even struggled with this issue in Hollywood and had to “drop out”. Moving forward, the Delhii Heights actor disclosed that he now carries a gym within his van and adheres to the 16:8 intermittent diet. Essentially, he fasts for nearly 18 hours each day, leaving a six-hour window for eating, which falls between 6am and 8pm.

Not only did I look forward to our scenes together, but I also took it upon myself to cater meals during shoots. However, I was the one abstaining from food myself.
