At present, Bollywood is filled with horror-comedy movies that have been doing exceptionally well lately. In the lead-up to Halloween 2024, three films from the Maddock Supernatural Universe will return to theaters. These include Stree starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, Munjya featuring Sharvari and Abhay Verma, and Bhediya headlined by Varun Dhawan.
On October 24th, 2024, the Instagram account of PVR Cinemas posted their schedule for a Halloween Movie Marathon. The post indicated that the films Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya will be re-released in select cinemas located in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Pune, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad from October 25th to 27th, 2024.
In addition to that, you’ll have the chance to catch The Conjuring, The Conjuring 2, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, It, and It Chapter Two on the big screen as well.

The movie “Stree” serves as the inaugural chapter in the Maddock Supernatural Universe. Featuring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi, this film made its debut in 2018. Amar Kaushik takes the helm as director, offering a blend of horror and comedy that unfolds in the eerie town of Chanderi, which is plagued by a spectral entity known as Stree.
In 2024, on Independence Day, the follow-up to the original film titled Stree 2 was released. It picks up where the first part left off and reintroduces popular characters. This time around, they confront a monstrous entity without a head named Sarkata. The movie turned out to be a massive box office hit.
2022’s movie “Bhediya” stars Varun Dhawan in the lead role, under the direction of Amar Kaushik. In this film, Dhawan transforms into a shape-shifting werewolf. Earlier this year, we also had “Munjya,” a movie featuring Sharvari and Abhay Verma. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, it was greatly appreciated by the audience.
Moving forward, upcoming movies set in this cinematic universe consist of “Thamba,” a story about vampires, “Stree 3,” “Bhediya 2,” and “Munjya 2.
