Shygirl is back with a follow-up to her acclaimed EP Club Shy (2024), titled Club Shy Room 2. Instead of sticking with the house genre from the first project, this new release features a diverse group of collaborators such as Saweetie and Pinkpantheress, who help bring back Shygirl’s signature grime-influenced hip-hop sound.
This electronic artist known for her versatility starts off her new EP by unleashing two powerful tracks, “Je M’apelle” and “Flex” along with BAMBII. These opening tracks are reminiscent of her 2020 EP ALIAS, a seven-track venture that highlighted her exceptional rhythm in songs like “Leng” and “Freak”. Tracks three and four might already be familiar to fans – they are Immaculate featuring California rapper Saweetie and F*Me featuring French singer Yseult. These were the first two singles released prior to the project.
Title “Wifey Riddim” features Jorja Smith and Sadboi, infusing R&B elements into a lively, quick tempo track that concludes with a heavy bass house segment. The EP wraps up with the Latin-inspired “True Religion,” featuring the pop sensation Pink Pantheress and Honduran artist Isabella Lovestory. Leaning into Shygirl’s love for Reggaeton and Neoperreo, Isabella Lovestory delivers a powerful Spanish verse, while Pinkpantheress contributes her signature, delicate falsetto for the bridge.
