Simu Liu, Woody Harrelson Deep Sea Thriller Last Breath is Now Streaming

If you missed catching “Last Breath” in cinemas, don’t worry! The studio, Focus Features, is making it possible for everyone to dive into the movie as it’s currently available for digital streaming.

In 2019, a documentary captivated me with its tale – a harrowing deep-sea thriller that mirrored real events. It narrates the heroic journey of divers Duncan Allcock and Dave Yuasa, who braved insurmountable odds to rescue their comrade, Chris Lemons, from the ocean’s depths during what was initially thought to be a routine job in 2012. In this retelling, Woody Harrelson, known for his roles in movies like “Zombieland,” portrays Allcock, while Simu Liu, famous for playing Shang-Chi in the “Legend of the Ten Rings,” embodies Yuasa. Finn Cole, an actor recognized from “Animal Kingdom,” takes on the role of Lemons in this gripping story.

Director Alex Parkinson, who’s been intimately familiar with this tale for a decade, shared his thoughts in an official release. “I’ve come to know every nook and cranny of this story,” he said. “The scale I had to work with was immense, offering me the opportunity to craft a narrative far beyond what the documentary could convey. My goal wasn’t merely to replicate the documentary; instead, I aimed to share this extraordinary tale in the most expansive way possible, delving deeper into the characters’ emotional landscapes and unexplored facets of their journeys.

Brooks remarks, “It’s quite uncommon to find a tale as captivating and fresh-feeling as this one. What sets it apart is its delving into the unexplored territory of saturation diving, a world that hasn’t been portrayed in a full-length narrative before, especially not on such a grand scale. Additionally, I was intrigued by the distinctness of the characters and the close-knit nature of their relationships.

Additionally, Parkinson collaborated with Richard da Costa in directing the source materials for the documentary.
