Intriguingly, the filmmaker has recently announced plans for an entire cop universe populated by women.
Rohit Shetty is working on an all-women cop universe
In an interview with News 18 Showsha, Rohit Shetty revealed that he’s currently developing a cop universe featuring only women, and fans can expect this project to come to life “soon.” Regarding his upcoming film, Singham Again, Shetty disclosed that it will include extensive hand-to-hand fighting scenes, with minimal reliance on visual effects.
Regarding his decision to prioritize hand-to-hand combat in the film and minimize VFX usage, he expressed that VFX has gained widespread popularity due to its ease and safety. Nevertheless, his team for Singham Again aims to keep things authentic. “We’re traditionalists,” he explained. “Hand-to-hand combat is genuine for me. In Singham Again, you’ll find real hand-to-hand fighting, but there will also be a significant amount of computer-generated effects.”

The third installment in the Singham series, Singham Again, stars Ajay Devgn and is the fifth film in the Rohit Shetty Cop Universe. Released in 2011, the original Singham was a hugely popular Bollywood entertainment and a favorite from the last ten years. In response to this success, a sequel titled Singham Returns, featuring Ajay and Kareena Kapoor Khan, was released in 2014.
In the year 2018, the movie “Simmba” starring Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan was released. Following this, in 2021, “Sooryavanshi” was released with Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the leading roles. Moving forward, the upcoming film “Singham Again” is set to hit theaters on Diwali 2025. This highly anticipated movie will bring together an impressive cast consisting of Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor in significant roles.
