SKALE Labs and Deadfellaz Partner to Launch Genre Defying Digital TCG ‘Death Touch’

As a seasoned researcher with years of experience in the blockchain and gaming industry, I find this partnership between SKALE and Deadfellaz to be a promising step towards mass adoption of Web3 technologies. Having witnessed the growth and evolution of various projects over the past few years, it’s refreshing to see projects like Death Touch that prioritize consumer adoption over brand adoption.

The ‘Death Touch’ alpha is set to launch in Q1 ‘25 on SKALE’s gas-free network

Today, SKALE, the blockchain devoid of gas and inconspicuous, unveiled a collaboration with Deadfellaz, a widely recognized NFT project on Ethereum, to introduce an exceptional digital trading card game (TCG) titled “Death Touch” onto the SKALE platform.

In Q1 ’25, Death Touch is scheduled for early release as a flagship game within SKALE’s expanding library of more than 150 games in development. With a community of over 6,000 unique collectors, Deadfellaz aims to debut Death Touch with its community spearheading an entrance into the mainstream mobile gaming market.

Andrew Saunders, holding the position of Chief Marketing and Growth Officer at SKALE Labs, expressed his enthusiasm today about integrating renowned web3 intellectual property into the SKALE system. As blockchain gaming undeniably expands, it’s thrilling to witness initiatives that are focused on consumer adoption rather than brand endorsement. Deadfellaz was my initial PFP NFT, so, as a three-year member of the community, I’m exhilarated to see founders whom I have supported from the outset, consistently moving in the right direction with their continued development.

Deadfellaz chose SKALE as the base for Death Touch due to its blockchain architecture, which provides the best environment for gaming projects with over 45 million unique active gaming wallets and savings of $8.5 Billion in gas fees so far. The speed and high-capacity capabilities of SKALE, through its hidden blockchain infrastructure, offer a gaming experience similar to that of traditional Web2 infrastructure and will play a crucial role in promoting widespread adoption of Web3 gaming by SKALE. Moreover, the unique zero-gas fee structure of SKALE means Death Touch players won’t have to worry about wasting money on high transaction fees, allowing them to concentrate more on the gaming experience itself.

Psych, one of Deadfellaz’s Co-Founders, stated: “Deadfellaz has consistently been at the vanguard of innovative storytelling and game mechanics. This paved the way for our eagerly awaited digital Trading Card Game, ‘Deathtouch’, which is primarily designed for mobile devices. This project, aimed at enthusiasts of the TCG genre seeking a more engaging and interactive experience than usual, has been strengthened by our collaboration with SKALE. Their gas-free infrastructure will allow us to expand this free-to-play title in a manner that aligns with the needs of our web3 gamers, competitive players, and casual gamers alike.

Today’s update follows SKALE’s announcement of a partnership with gaming industry veteran Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari and Pong, who aims to construct his upcoming gaming venture on SKALE. With over 150 projects under development and launch within the SKALE network, it has swiftly emerged as a key player in the web3 gaming sector.

You’ll find detailed info about Death Touch as we get closer to its release date set for early 2025. If you wish to learn more about SKALE Labs, feel free to check out their website or keep up with them on platform X.
