In 2024, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar debuted with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, then moved on to Sarfira and Khel Khel Mein. Despite the actor’s team having high expectations for these films as entertainment options, the public didn’t find them appealing. As a result, they failed at the box office last year. Now, Kumar is preparing for his 2025 debut, Sky Force. At the upcoming trailer launch of this action film, Kumar expressed some dissatisfaction about his work in 2024.
At the gathering, actor Akshay shared that such an incident wasn’t his first, implying he’s experienced similar situations before. The veteran star emphasized the importance of continued effort and dedication. Akshay shared that he consistently encourages himself and others to keep grinding. Additionally, he disclosed that suggestions are made for him to limit his film work to a maximum of two per year. However, he questions why he shouldn’t push himself further if he can handle more.
Through diligence and perseverance, I’ve built my entire career at this steady pace. However, I’ve been advised against delving into content-driven films, but I’m not inclined to follow that advice. The Indian Express reported him as saying this. He also expressed his pride in Sarfira, a drama film he made with Radhika Madan, despite its lack of success. “It is one of my finest works,” the Mission Raniganj actor declared enthusiastically.
To jog your recollection, Kumar had brief roles in two films in 2024. Initially, he was part of Amar Kaushik’s Stree 2, and later, Rohit Shetty’s film Singham Again. In the meantime, on the professional side, he will soon be appearing in Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapur’s Sky Force alongside Sara Ali Khan and Veer Pahariya. This upcoming movie is scheduled to hit theaters on January 24, 2025.
Besides his current work, Kumar is also involved in creating movies such as Jolly LLB 3, Welcome to the Wilderness, Houseful 5, The New Fugitives 3, and Haunted Manor.
