Skybound Hires Nachie Marsham as Senior Editor (Exclusive)

As a seasoned comic book enthusiast with a penchant for industry veterans, I can’t help but feel thrilled by Skybound’s latest addition to their editorial team – Nachie Marsham! With his extensive experience at IDW Publishing, Disney Publishing Worldwide, and DC Comics, he brings a wealth of knowledge that will undoubtedly propel Skybound’s comics line to new heights.

Skybound has strengthened its editorial department by bringing on board experienced comic book editor, Nachie Marsham, in the role of senior editor.

In this position, Marsham will oversee Skybound’s collaboration with LEGO Books and create a fresh lineup of original comic series.

As a part of Marsham’s team, I’m helping to expand our multimedia company’s editorial content, particularly in our beloved comics line. We’re dedicated to strengthening this cornerstone of our business, all while we keep growing our other media divisions. Our company is renowned for hit series like “The Walking Dead” and “Invincible,” both comics and TV shows.

Nachie Marsham brings an impressive level of expertise and enthusiasm to Skybound, and he’s actively working on expanding our original and licensed comic projects in innovative ways,” said Sean Mackiewicz, Senior Vice President and Publisher, in a statement. “Our editorial team is top-notch, and we remain dedicated to providing the most thrilling, emotionally engaging comics on a regular basis.

Before moving to Skybound, he held the position of publisher at IDW Publishing. There, he orchestrated the debut of “The Last Ronin,” a popular and critically-acclaimed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series that turned out to be one of the company’s biggest successes. Before this role, he was an executive editor at Disney Publishing Worldwide, where he managed the Marvel Press imprint, and held several editorial positions at DC Comics.

The upcoming experience aligns well with Skybound’s current projects. This company has achieved tremendous success through licensed comic books, notably its collaboration with Hasbro. For instance, they introduced the Energon Universe line, winning two Eisner Awards for Daniel Warren Johnson’s “Transformers,” and are currently undergoing a major overhaul and renovation of G.I. Joe on a large scale.

Skybound has experienced robust sales with their Universal Monsters collection, and they recently introduced the third installment of their Eisner-nominated Creepshow anthology, which is inspired by the successful Shudder TV series created and distributed by Cartel Entertainment.

In the past few spring seasons, Skybound has made four key strategic appointments, with Marsham being the latest addition to this group. He joins recently recruited executives such as Ben Abernathy in the role of executive editor, Blake Kobashigawa as senior director for business development, and Alex Hargett, holding the positions of brand and editorial director.

Marsham expressed his excitement about becoming part of the Skybound editorial team, working on a diverse range of comic titles. He’s thrilled to be with a company that boasts an impressive history, a stellar backlist, a powerhouse front list, and a relentless drive to innovate in comics storytelling.
