The writers also threw in some funny jabs at the Fox News veteran, like when the character Bret Baier showed unease hearing words like “abortion” and “uterus.” Overall, I think the impression was a hit judging by the audience’s laughter and reactions.
Beyond those points, the drawing included some amusing scenes as well. Maya Rudolph managed to elicit laughter through her culturally relevant depiction of the Vice President. Throughout the performance, the fictional Harris character referenced the popular “demure” meme and the trend where people caption photos with “In da clurb, we all fam.” Additionally, James Austin Johnson occasionally portrayed Donald Trump, which added to the humor as well.

Despite this, Donald Trump himself criticized Baldwin’s portrayal, and eventually, Baldwin stopped playing the character in 2020.

The writers appear to be striving for more originality, as demonstrated by last week’s episode with a humorous politics-centric Family Feud sketch. Throughout this period, they have introduced Andy Samberg, Jim Gaffigan, and Dana Carvey, who portrayed First Gentleman Doug Emhoff, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and U.S. President Joe Biden respectively, into the series.
