In May, approximately $500,000 worth of tokens were introduced onto the Solana blockchain by developers. A significant portion of these tokens were memecoins. The user-friendly token creation process on Solana, which is accessible to platforms like Pump.fun, has been a major factor fueling this rise in meme coin development. Among the meme coins that emerged are Dogwifhat and Bonk, as well as political tokens such as Jeo Boden and Doland Trump.
The speeds and fees of Solana make it an attractive choice for experimental projects. Several companies and brands such as Bitpay, Uphold, Shopify, Bankera, Kraken, Gnosis, Augur, SingularDTV, and Funfair have adopted Solana for issuing tokens.
