Someone Unearthed Jeff Goldblum’s Secret Jurassic Park Message At The End Of PlayStation’s Lost World Game, And I’ve Found My Nostalgia Fix This Week

Video games and films have long shared a significant connection. It’s common today to find movies derived from popular video games, some of which are quite enjoyable. Conversely, in the past, it was more frequent to encounter video games inspired by hit movies, but these games often fell short. However, the game based on “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” boasted an exceptional ending.

The game for the original PlayStation based on The Lost World: Jurassic Park isn’t a particularly great game. Frankly, it’s not exactly based on one of the best Jurassic Park movies to begin with, though it’s far from the worst movie tie-in game ever made. It does, however, have one of the most iconic endings in the history of the medium. A post containing the entire ending was recently put on Instagram, and it has continued to blow up, as more people discover a video of Jeff Goldblum congratulating them for beating the game, then telling them to turn off the machine and go outside. Check it out.

If I devoted countless hours to mastering a video game, only for a famous personality to appear on-screen and imply that I’ve squandered my time and should enjoy the outdoors instead, it would undoubtedly irritate me. In fact, I remember feeling quite annoyed when my parents said something similar. However, when Jeff Goldblum delivers such advice, it doesn’t feel nearly as frustrating.

I can’t recall when I first watched this video. Truth be told, I never managed to conquer The Lost World game on my own, but it’s plausible that a friend of mine did. Nevertheless, for its time on the original PlayStation, this video game finale was pretty impressive. Capturing an authentic video of an actor from the franchise, who seems to have filmed it during a break on set, is something that simply wouldn’t have been possible with earlier console games.

Generally speaking, video games based on popular movies are not common these days. Although some managed to sell well just by capitalizing on their famous names, many were poorly made because of tight development schedules and an attitude that, since they had brand recognition, money wasn’t necessary to invest in quality.

Over the course of time since the revamped Jurassic World franchise began, several games themed after it have been released. However, there hasn’t been a game that directly followed the storyline of any of the movies. The prospect of a game connected to the upcoming Jurassic World: Rebirth, where Scarlett Johansson or Mahershala Ali instruct me to step outside, is enticing enough to make me eager to experience it. Just that premise seems worth investing time in.
